**Binghamton Community Rallies to Support Fire Department During Time of Mourning**
The Binghamton Fire Department has expressed heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of support from residents, businesses, and organizations following the tragic loss of Firefighter Gaudet. In a statement, the department shared how the community's acts of kindness have provided comfort during this difficult time.
Local businesses and community members have stepped up with generous contributions such as food, coffee, flowers, cards, donations, and kind words. The department specifically acknowledged the efforts of numerous businesses and organizations, including but not limited to:
- Relief Pitcher, known for hosting the department after the wake
- Old Barn Market
- Nirchi’s and Dunkin’ Donuts, with multiple contributions from various locations
- Lost Dog Cafe
- Gennarelli’s Flower Shop
- Petcosky and Sons Plumbing
- Strange Brew Coffeehouse
- BAPA Network Dunkin’
- Batch Coffee
- Farmers Insurance
- Beer Tree Brew Co., and many others.
Churches, bakers, restaurants, sorority members, and even Congressman Mark Molinaro were among those recognized for their support.
The department emphasized how meaningful it was to have community support during their time of mourning and extended thanks to all involved. While listing names, the statement also acknowledged that there are many others whose contributions, though not specifically named, have not gone unnoticed.
The Binghamton Fire Department’s message highlighted the strength and unity of the community, stating, "Thank you for standing with us, lifting us up, and reminding us what an incredible community we serve."
The loss of Firefighter Gaudet has deeply impacted the department, but the compassion and generosity of the community continue to provide solace during their grieving process.
