Severe Thunderstorm Watch Hits Northeast PA

Lackawanna County is under a severe thunderstorm watch as strong to severe thunderstorms are forecast to move through the area. According to officials, the storm line is expected to travel across parts of the I-88 corridor toward Binghamton and most of northeast Pennsylvania between 8 PM and 10 PM EDT. The storms have a history of producing damaging winds, which could result in trees and power lines being blown down. The severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 10 PM EDT. The information was provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the U.S. Department of Commerce.
