Stewart Park Carousel to Open May 22 in Ithaca

ITHACA, N.Y. — The Stewart Park Carousel will open for the season on May 22, according to the City of Ithaca.

Summer operating hours are 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

From May 22 to June 21, the carousel will operate on weekends (Friday through Sunday) and holidays only. From June 22 through Labor Day, it will operate Tuesday through Sunday and holidays.

Free days in May and June include Memorial Day Weekend (May 23–25), Saturday, May 30, and Wednesday, June 3.

In June, the carousel will be open every weekend: June 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27 and 28.

Partners and supporters include the Elizabeth Ann Clune Montessori School of Ithaca; Tang Family in Loving Memory of Chung Liang Tang; and the Child Development Council Playdate in the Park.

Accommodations listed for visitors include Canopy by Hilton Ithaca Downtown, Hampton Inn Ithaca and Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Ithaca.

New this season: sensory-friendly rides with no music and slower spinning. The first ride of every hour is at the top of the hour.
