Auburn police union issues statement after attack on Syracuse officers
The Auburn Police Union Local 195, based in Auburn, New York, posted a message about an attack on Syracuse Police Department officers and an officer-involved shooting. The union said, "First and foremost, we thank God that none of our brothers and sisters with the Syracuse Police Department were killed or seriously injured during this violent attack and officer-involved shooting. St. Michael was absolutely watching over them that day."
"Incidents like this are a stark reminder of the dangers law enforcement officers face every single shift — dangers that can unfold in seconds, anywhere, at any time. This isn’t something that only happens in big cities or somewhere far away. It can happen to any officer, in any community, on any call," the post reads.
"To our brothers and sisters in blue: hold the line. Stay vigilant. Stay safe. Watch each other’s backs like family, because that bond is what gets us home at the end of the night."
"The public sees the uniform — but behind that badge are human beings with families waiting for them to come home. Never take for granted the sacrifices made by the men and women who stand between chaos and safety every day."
"Stay frosty. Stay ready. And may God continue to watch over all first responders." #BackTheBlue #ThinBlueLine #HoldTheLine #StMichaelProtectUs
